Call for Submissions for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Gender-based violence (GBV) is one of the most widespread human rights abuses in the world, affecting individuals everywhere. Historical and structural inequalities between men and women, and the different forms of gender-based discrimination contribute to women and girls being disproportionately affected by GBV in a daily basis, which is further exacerbated by current global crises. Moreover, the risk and vulnerabilities are higher for specific groups like persons with disabilities, migrants, refugees, and indigenous women.  
 

As we approach the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 2024, from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day), we are excited to share IOM’s global theme for this year’s campaign: "Supporting Survivors Saves Lives".
 

How can you contribute to enhance knowledge sharing on the topic? 

Within the Migrant Protection Platform, addressing gender-based violence is key as one of the protection thematic areas. To foster engagement and enhance knowledge sharing on the topic, we are excited to launch a Call for Submissions for the duration of the 16 Days' campaign.

Every survivor deserves compassionate, high-quality services that honor their dignity and choices. Responding to GBV is not only assistance—it’s a lifeline. Committed to leaving no one behind, IOM works tirelessly to meet survivors’ needs by listening to them and designing programs based on their experiences and concerns.
