Protection Advocacy Brief: IOM Sudan Crisis Response
Since April 2023, people in Sudan continue to face all forms of protection concerns and a worsening protection crisis, with women, girls, men and boys in situations of vulnerability experiencing the worst consequences. Approximately 2.3 million people have fled to neighbouring countries namely, Egypt, Libya, Chad, Central African Republic, South Sudan, and Ethiopia. Despite significant operational challenges, IOM has scaled up its protection response within Sudan and in all Neighbouring countries.
This Advocacy Brief provides an overview of the ongoing deteriorating protection environment in Sudan and the Neighbouring Countries, outlines IOM’s protection programming and highlights the dire funding gaps within protection programming requiring urgent international action.
