The Platform Joins the Commemoration of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT)

The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), on May 17, is a day to celebrate diversity and reflect on our efforts to ensure the inclusion of all people. This day underscores the need to raise awareness about specific areas crucial for guaranteeing the protection, respect, and fulfillment of the human rights of people in all their diversity. 

IDAHOBIT also highlights the protection risks faced by individuals with diverse Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC). As people with diverse SOGIESC often experience heightened levels of discrimination, repression, and violence, which overlap with other identities' aspects (such as migratory status, gender, age, sexuality, class, and/or race - among others -), it is essential to undertake comprehensive actions and support systems that address these intersecting vulnerabilities and promote safety and inclusion.
