Supporting Brighter Futures: Young women and girls and labour migration in South-East Asia and the Pacific
Gender is now increasingly becoming central to discussions of the causes and consequences of migration. Given the widespread acknowledgement that the "feminization" of migration has changed migration patterns and processes worldwide, Gender affects migration motivations, migration patterns, and migration behaviors.
This publication explores the critical intersection of gender and migration, focusing on the unique experiences and challenges faced by young women and girls in the context of international labour migration.
With a focus on South-East Asia and the Pacific, this volume seeks to contribute to creating brighter futures for young women and girls, ensuring that migration policies and interventions are gender-sensitive and responsive to their specific needs and vulnerabilities.
