The report presents an overview of the status of migrant workers’ access to remedy in Hong Kong SAR China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, through the lens of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). The report identifies remaining and new gaps, challenges, but also promising good practices in the implementation of State-based and non-State-based grievance mechanisms that consider and respond to the gender-specific vulnerabilities of migrant workers, and human and labour rights risks they face throughout labour migration journey. It provides recommendations to support States, businesses, civil society, and other actors in furthering the implementation of the third pillar of the UNGPs on access to remedy.

The report was produced through the IOM’s Corporate Responsibility to Eliminate Slavery and Trafficking (CREST) initiative, funded by the Government of Sweden.
