The webinar presented the newly launched Monitoring Toolkit and Good Practices for the Sustainable Reintegration of Child Returnees. The Monitoring Toolkit and accompanying study outlining good practices for supporting children reintegration were coordinated by the EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub (KMH) with the financial support of the European Union (EU), and in collaboration with Samuel Hall, DG INTPA and Save the Children.
The Monitoring Toolkit, developed and field-tested by Samuel Hall in Ethiopia, Georgia, Honduras, Iraq and Nigeria, promotes a child-focused approach for both understanding and measuring the sustainable reintegration of child returnees in the economic, social and psychosocial dimensions. The Toolkit puts forth a set of practical tools that take into account the diverse experiences faced by child returnees across those dimensions.
During this event, the tools developed - comprising of quantitative surveys, case studies, focus group discussions and key informant interviews - were presented and shared. The webinar was opened and closed by representatives from the EU and IOM. It also included interventions from Save the Children, Samuel Hall and IOM, presenting study rationale and overview, methodology and key findings as well as experiences from the field.
