The EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub (KMH), with a conscious effort to improve the users' experience and the inclusiveness of the Return and Reintegration Platform, as well as to raise awareness on the topic of web accessibility and digital inclusion, has actively worked on implementing a number of accessibility improvements on the interface (based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) by the World Wide Web Consortium) such as color contrast, 200% zoom, alternative text, keyboard navigation, etc.

A significant amount of users suffer from impairments of various degrees, from visual to auditory or cognitive issues, and it is crucial not to make them feel ignored nor excluded, but rather fully part of our audience by recognizing their accessibility needs while navigating the Return and Reintegration Platform.

These improvements specifically targeting the accessibility have been implemented while recognizing the rapid evolvement of the digital ecosystems and tools, and therefore the need to consider them as part of a continuous work in progress.

The Return and Reintegration Platform has been developed in the context of the EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub (KMH), established in 2017 under the Pilot Action for Voluntary Return and Sustainable, Community-Based Reintegration funded by the European Union. As a global tool for sharing knowledge, research and good practices, the Return and Reintegration Platform is available in English, French and Spanish.
