COMPASS releases vacancies for three consultancies in Ethiopia

The Cooperation on Migration and Partnerships to Achieve Sustainable Solutions (COMPASS) programme, funded by the Dutch Government,  was designed to provide direct protection and assistance services to vulnerable migrants whilst developing long-term, sustainable solutions to challenges posed by unsafe migration in 12 countries. 

IOM Ethiopia is implementing COMPASS to contribute to the long-term outcomes of focus on the protection and assistance of people on the move and decreased irregular migration.

In the framework of the COMPASS Programme, IOM Ethiopia will conduct research in three thematic areas:
 

  • Conduct research on the intersection of Child Protection and Migration in Ethiopia. A detailed terms of reference for this consultancy may be found here.
  • Assess the impact of environmental drivers and climate change on migration trends and relevant protection needs, as well as the strengths and gaps in policies meant to address the intersections of migration, protection and climate-change in Ethiopia. A detailed terms of reference for this consultancy may be found here.
  • Assess the mental health and psychosocial needs among migrant returnees, their families and key communities of origin as well as map existing services, institutions, professionals and community structures that could support the provision of mental health and psychosocial support (MPHSS) services in Ethiopia. A detailed terms of reference for this consultancy may be found here.

Each consultancy is expected to start in June 2022 and be conducted for a duration of four months.

Candidates may apply to more than one research consultancy but will only be permitted to conduct one consultancy.
