Migrating children is not a new phenomenon: children have fled their homes for centuries to reach safe havens away from poverty, conflict, and disaster. With increased globalization, escalated global warming, and transitioning economies, we are likely to see greater flows of Children on the Move in the future. While there are existing policies and frameworks to protect migrating children, these have not been thoroughly reviewed to identify their present-time relevance in protecting children. This comprehensive study by Harvard FXB Center examines current frameworks to protect Children on the Move and identifies weak points in these policies. Furthermore, it provides recommendations on how these frameworks can be improved to guarantee the protection and rights of all migrant children.
