This paper will argue for the importance of reintegration being sustainable, measurable, balanced, complementary and innovative, indicating principles and practices leading to these parameters. It also argues that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to reintegration approaches. It is out of the scope of this paper to deal with reintegration in countries in transition, as these face very different challenges as a consequence of large flows of refugees and displaced persons.
