IOM commemorates International Migrants Day on December 18th, recognizing the invaluable contribution of migrants worldwide.

On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December), the Migrant Protection Platform joins the global community in reflecting on inclusivity, reinforcing its commitment to fortify its accessibility.

The award-winning IMPACT study was an impact evaluation of the ‘EU-IOM Joint Initiative for Migrant Protection and Reintegration in the Horn of Africa’, a flagship programme to save lives, protect and assist migrants along key migration routes in Africa.

The United Nations Network on Migration organized the first peer learning exchange between Central American countries and Mexico on safe, dignified and rights-based return and readmission of migrants and their sustainable reintegration.

During a two-day workshop in Ghana, IOM and BMZ regionally presented the research study “Gendered Reintegration Experiences and Gender Sensitive / Responsive / Transformative Approaches to Reintegration”.

The webinar aims to present the research findings and recommendations to a wide interagency audience and provide a platform for questions and discussion on child trafficking, ahead of some relevant key events planned for the remainder of 2023.

On September 18 at 3.30pm (CEST) the Return and Reintegration Platform hosted the public webinar "Migration, Gender and Protection: Working Towards Transformative Approaches”. Simultaneous interpretation was available in English, French and Spanish.

IOM and the Government of El Salvador organised the second edition of the Specialised Workshop on Journalism and Migration.

The Interagency Working Group against Trafficking in Persons’ (ICAT) is organizing the Webinar Series 2023 on Data Gathering, Analysis and Visualization. The first webinar will take place on 1 June 2023 at 10 am and 4 pm CET.

The event presented the findings and case studies from latest reports released by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and produced by Samuel Hall.

The IOM Regional Office for the East and Horn of Africa hosted (11-13 of April) a Regional Stocktaking workshop in Nairobi (Kenya) on the evidence on migrant protection and reintegration in the Horn of Africa.

The Platform takes steps towards the fulfilment of international accessibility standards and recognizes the rapid evolution of digital ecosystems and tools.

During the event, the World Bank, IOM and partners provided insights on the methodology, as well as on the recommendations used to conduct longitudinal studies.

These improvements specifically targeting the accessibility have been implemented while recognizing the rapid evolvement of the digital ecosystems and tools, and therefore the need to consider them as part of a continuous work in progress.

The EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub (KMH) hosted the public event "Building evidence and harmonizing approaches on reintegration: lessons from KMH", bringing together experts, practitioners and policymakers.

The EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub (KMH) has made available the package of tools  for the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of return and reintegration programmes in three languages, English and French and now also Spanish.

The West and Central Africa Regional office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub organized a workshop on the integrated approach to reintegration in the West and Central Africa region on November 14-15.

Invitation to the public event "Building evidence and harmonizing approaches on reintegration: lessons from KMH", which will examine the lessons from the KMH’s work and reflect on its contribution to policy and programming on the subject.

The EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub (KMH), in collaboration with the IOM’s COMPASS programme, held its 5th virtual cross-regional seminar on Reintegration of victims of trafficking: new findings and lessons from practitioners.
