In September 2021, IOM released the Monitoring Toolkit for the sustainable reintegration of child returnees. The development of the Toolkit was based on an extensive literature review and data analysis, followed by a field-testing phase in Ethiopia, Georgia, Honduras, Iraq and Nigeria. The Toolkit was presented in a webinar jointly organized by the EU-IOM Knowledge Management Hub (KMH), the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) and Samuel Hall. As a next step, the Toolkit will be gradually rolled out among practitioners and partners working on the reintegration of child returnees.

The recruitment of a dedicated consultant will serve the preparation of a comprehensive guidance as well as a dissemination plan for the implementation of the Toolkit, in collaboration with relevant colleagues at IOM Headquarters as well as regional and country offices. The consultant is expected to focus on three main components:

  1. Mapping of guidance gaps and needs as well as of existing guidance on child protection and reintegration, mental health and psychosocial support, monitoring and evaluation and data protection.

  2. Drafting of comprehensive guidance for the practical use of the Toolkit.

  3. Drafting of a plan to support the dissemination of the guidance among relevant stakeholders and practitioners.

For a detailed description of activities and expected outputs, please refer to the Terms of Reference in the dedicated vacancy notice available in the IOM’s e-recruitment section. Interested candidates can apply following the indications provided in the notice.
