Climate change, environmental degradation and disasters are reshaping migration patterns and contributing to increased displacement globally. The situation of populations trapped or immobile in degraded areas, exposed to environmental shocks and facing further impoverishment is equally concerning.

Urgent action is required to reduce the risk of displacement and address immobility through anticipatory action, early warning, preparedness, and adaptation. Inaction is not an option.
