The vast majority of states have ratified international agreements upholding the principle that all individuals, including migrants regardless of their status, are entitled to respect, protection, and fulfillment of their human rights. However, migrants still frequently face abuse, exploitation, discrimination, and other serious human rights violations. This is largely not due to a lack of international frameworks but rather the ineffective implementation of these agreements and insufficient international cooperation.
This paper will highlight different aspect of international instruments that have particular relevance to the rights of migrants.
