Vulnerability Among IOM Assisted Migrants In North Africa

North Africa remains a significant destination, transit, and origin for international migration, with migrants often facing vulnerabilities and requiring support and protection.
This report highlights the challenges faced by migrants in Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia. During this period, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) identified and registered over 68,000 migrants, with nearly half (49%) in Libya. The report reveals that 14% of these migrants were in vulnerable situations, including victims of trafficking, individuals with health needs, and unaccompanied or separated children. The primary nationalities among these vulnerable migrants were Sudanese, Nigerian, and Guinean.
The report emphasizes the need for tailored protection schemes and targeted interventions to address the complex vulnerabilities and ensure the well-being of these migrants.
